Wooden Reactive Target

Reactive targets are usually made of steel, are therefore heavy and can be expensive.  The target is made of wooden lath, a cardboard target, and a balloon.  This yields a very light, inexpensive reactive target.  Light weight allows this target to be attached to a target mover, or simply moved and stored much easier.

The balloon and its string hold the target in the upright position.  When the balloon is broken by a bullet, the target falls.

I haven't made one of the targets yet, but it should take no more than an afternoon.  A friend of mine made one for an IDPA match and reported back that it worked well.  He added one refinement too.  Instead of the balloon string being tied to the target every time the balloon is replaced, he added an alligator clip to grip the string.  Thanks Robert!
