2026 High Desert 2 gun

Welcome to the 3rd Annual High Desert 2-Gun match. This match will be a blend between a major multi-day match and a monthly match, 6 stages all shot in a single day. Lunch will be provided along with T-shirts. To get a t-shirt you must register by the 20th of September. We took inspiration from the action steel matches regarding reset. This will keep the tempo high, and minimal reset equates to maximal fun. The match will have some physical aspects, but for those that want more physicality, bonuses will be awarded the harder you make it.

Things to know:

Rifles will need a sling and pistols will need a retention holster.

All weapons will be retained throughout the stage.

No PCCs.

Minimum 3 rifle mags and 3 pistol 15+ rd cap mags.

Match will have some physicality, plan on running while carrying weight (22 lbs min), crawling or moving at a low crouch, and bending down to pick up heavy objects.

There will be pistol shooting from retention, and several times you will drop the mag and take a single shot to clear the weapon.

Shooters must be ready to shoot by the time the RO is ready for the next shooter, failure to do so will result in a 60 sec penalty and the shooter being moved to the back of your squad.

Scoped Tactical—Rifle has one magnified optic on it. Can have a muzzle brake, can use extended mags and drum mags, can have only one optic on it, back up irons ok. Pistol can use extended mags up to 140mm, cannot have muzzle break or optics.
Limited—all Guns same as Scoped Tactical, except rifle may only have a 1x red dot or iron sights.
Open—All the guns can have optics, muzzle brakes, extended mags, rifles can use bipods and or bags. Bags must start attached to the rifle. No race holsters for this match.
Modern Optics-Designed to land between Open and Scope Tac. Pistol: Holster rules are the same as for Tactical/Limited/HM (i.e. no race holsters). Use whatever pistol you want, so long as the pistol with your longest magazine inserted fits in the official box with slide parallel to the top of the box. The maximum internal dimensions of this box are 9” x 7” x 2”. Rifle: Use whatever rifle and optics you want. A bipod is allowed, but not bags or other support devices. Only 30 round magazines may be used. Coupled 30 round mags ok.

Want to Reserve a Range?

Please use our Range Reservation Form to submit requests at least two weeks prior to your requested date.

All requests by external entities to reserve any section of the range will require BoD approval. Club disciplines that request to reserve the Main Rifle line or more than one distinct area of the range will require BoD approval.

Which Ranges are Open/Closed?

If an event lists a range, then it is CLOSED for general use. Members should use other PRGC areas that are not reserved or the “members-only” areas (see the Range Layout page).
